This is sooo true! It’s kind of horrible to realize that how long it takes for things you put on line to disapear… maybe forever.

So ya, I google my name, and you might be surprised if you know how many people regularly google their names. Once I mentioned one of my friend’s name on my blog post when describing a strange dream of mine, that blog surposed to be a “secret garden” for me because only a handful of closest friends know about it.  But ya… that friend happen to be one of the people who regularly google their names, so he came to my blog half a year later and say happy new year, said that he follow the google search to my blog.

I just felt so lucky that I didnt say anything else about him. Like… what he asked me for when he was cheating on his girfriend… who might regularly google his name us well.

Even worse, if your name is unique enough (like the username I have been used for over 10 years- nah im not gonna tell you what it is), you dont even have a chance to explain… or deny what come out from the research engine. People will know exactly, “Ya that IS YOU! There’s no one else has such a stupid name.”

But more common names have their own problem, too. My Chinese name which I regularly google (;P) is somehow boyish and not that unique. So I end up get to know every update and news about a famous male doctor who happen to have the same name as mine =), and what’s more, who happen to be my parent’s friend in real life.

And there was one time, when i google mt name as usual, one post came up… it actually use my name as the title and it was on the first page of search results, i just couldnt miss it. The title was actually “XXX you lying bitch!” =_= and the content was like how the person named XXX (my name!) betrade her and lies to everybody so that they all think that she’s a nice person but she is not. The network shows it was not my city even not my provice and her age was definately not within my friend circle. But HEY! IT SHOWS MY NAME! and seems like the post just stay on the first page FOREVER! What people gonna think when they see such a title and when they happen to know someone with the same name in real life?!

And you CANNOT trust that someone really is who they say they are on a blog, online community, comment and etc. Many people make fake profiles and try to take on others identities just to make them look bad. Bottom line is, dont believe everything you read, ecspecially on the internet! LOL

I always know that there are millions of users againsting the new facebook but they just never succeed; and they just never leave or slow down even their anger never got response.

As a student with advertising/ media operation education background, and as someone who is most likely to enter media business after graduate, I can perfectly accept what is expalined in the passage.

It will be a long long story if we start to talk about “corporation dominants” and “full democracy” or not. But if I were the person in charge of the company, I wont care about what customers think about us UNLESS they ACTUALLY do something, say, leave.

And the fact is they DO NOT actually leave.

But I still feel sad for those millions of users who truly believe that they are or they should be the “customers” of the facebook “service”, and they are trying so hard to bring back the old facebook. They set up all kinds of groups, they believe that if they can collect certain number of people to join in the group, they can bring back the ld facebook. All kinds of concerns have been rised and they are making every effort to be heard:

Apparently if Facebook gets sold then theres a major possibility that it will turn into a “Paysite”. This is just stupid!
Lets all stick together on this one and let them know that we will leave Facebook if they decide to charge us to use it.

They will not charge you for the site, because the real “product” they are selling here is you guys, or us, not the online service. They are selling us to advertisers, that’s how they (at least now trying to) make money.

are you all stupid? facebook makes hundreds of millions of pounds a year in advertising and that advertising is based on the amount of people who use the sight. It will never become a pay site as these advertisers will see it as a less viable advertising option and leave.

I think i agree with i-Dra on “those dresses are very pretty, but i refuse to believe that there was not a better photo to choose than this one.”

those photoes do seem  like they have some kind of implications. I view all the pictures on this page, all the different baby photoes, but this is the only one that i click in and view comments, that’s because i did feel something uncomfortable with this picture.

when i-dra express her concern about the photo, she is not just make it up or simply “think too much”. You know when we study “pornography in music videos” in communication classes, we saw similar pictures, and those pictures are regarded as potraying women seeking substitute of sexualized male body part.

I didnt know much about these- economics, finance, but I heard some stories since the economic crisis emerged.

Someone refers from On Capital says, it is Marx’s inference that since capitalism could mass produce goods after the industrilization, they need to sell those “huge amount of commodities”, that’s why they invited advertising and other marketing tools. The capitalists want working class people to mass consume goods, even it means to put them in debt deep. When the debt accumunate to huge enough to cause bankrupcy of all the private banks, Government will have to modify them into state-owned, and all these will finally lead the country to Communism.

it was a poster, says “Public toilet” above and then there is another sentence below: “Commit no nuisance!”

People got totally high about this and things kinda go crazy… lol

I don’t remember the last time I saw a toilet with a black seat in the US but you see them all the time in the UK.

We have black seats all over the place here. We need them to hide the poo that we unhygienic Americans get all over the seat.

We only have pink seats with fur here in the US. Sometimes you’ll see a glow-in-the-dark seat, but most are pink and furry.

This is some funny pictures from my friend’s blog, SHE DREW THEM BY HERSELF. And this is her own experience when working in Japanese companies.

A lot of people heard about the sexual harrasment is a serious problem in Japan. Well anyway, her company just held this weekly meeting when she and other two female employees first came in (they were nearly a “all male” company before these 3 girls came in). I find it kinda funnyyy too…

The picture was sooo cute and funny lol and everybody was so seriously discussing the topic and bothered. Ya I like the way you guys deal with the problem, straight forward, unlike some company my friend was in, people just kinda protect themselves from each other, when she saw her supervisor it looks like a mouse meet with a cat…

I love the cutie-looking boy the best~ in the picture; and the long hair one, you wrote a “male” on him to point out his sex lolll, so funny… love the cutie style of you drawings. <3
